“We really think about ourselves as a lifecycle firm where we work with a lot of Israeli companies, from startup to funding, to exits, whether it's an IPO or mergers and acquisitions and as a strategic partner,” said Shani Rivaux, a lawyer at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman Law Firm. “So whether it's companies that are coming to invest in the United States or companies that are growing in Israel that are looking for funding, we work with every aspect and really look to be that strategic partner.”
The firm joined CTech at the first-ever Tech & Invest conference in Miami, hosted by Calcalist and Bank Leumi. The two-day event brought entrepreneurs, investors, and lawyers across both the U.S. and Israel who hoped to facilitate deals and encourage business between the two regions.
Much of the work Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman focuses on is helping companies with defense, homeland security, and other work that might pertain to the American government. “We will work with the companies, identify the government budget and opportunities, and look at how we take that budget and match that up to capabilities companies have,” added Justin Rubin. “We meet with members of Congress regularly, both Democrats and Republicans. We're a very bipartisan practice, working with the Department of Defense, and Department of Homeland Security, who are the buyers and customers, working with program managers and others figuring out how to create that demand.”
