Check Point and Wiz join forces to challenge Palo Alto in cloud security
The strategic partnership aims to create the industry's most comprehensive cloud protection solution.
Check Point and Wiz have signed a strategic partnership agreement to offer the industry's most comprehensive cloud security solutions. Wiz is one of the world's largest players in cloud cybersecurity today, while Check Point, one the longest-standing company in the field, is relatively weaker in this area—particularly when it comes to cloud applications. However, Check Point has an extensive customer base and a strong reputation.
The main competitor in this space is Palo Alto Networks, founded by Israeli entrepreneur Nir Zuk, which currently provides the most comprehensive cloud security solution on the market. This makes it a formidable rival to both Assaf Rappaport’s Wiz and Check Point, which recently appointed a new CEO for the first time since its founding. The collaboration with Wiz marks one of the first major strategic moves by Check Point’s new CEO, Nadav Zafrir.
As part of the partnership, the companies will deliver an integrated solution to address cloud security challenges in network environments, bridging the gap between cloud network security and Cloud Native Application Protection (CNAPP). The companies will integrate their technologies by combining Check Point’s cloud defense mechanisms with Wiz’s cloud risk and vulnerability detection platform, enabling security teams to prevent cloud-based attacks in real time. This synergy will help cybersecurity professionals identify unprotected assets and applications in the cloud, prioritize necessary fixes, and ensure threats are neutralized.
The partnership includes joint integration and the assisted migration of Check Point’s CNAPP customers to Wiz. Check Point expects to reallocate resources and make further investments across its Cloud Security business, including Cloud Network Security, Web Application Firewall (WAF), GenAI and other key Cloud technologies.
