Quantum computing will "be the next big thing after AI," says AT&T VP
“We can create an amazing impact on the overall ecosystem that is working on Quantum,” said VP of Technology Rinat Zilberstein at Tech TLV.
“I think that we do see many indicators showing us that the Quantum day will come. It's not ‘if’, but it's a question of ‘when’,” said Rinat Zilberstein, VP of Technology at AT&T. “Some can debate it will be 10 years and some can say that it will be five years. But we see so many indicators saying that this thing is going to be the next big thing that will occupy us after the AI that we are experiencing right now.”
During this year’s 2025 VC Survey conducted by CTech, one area caught the attention of investors more than any other: Quantum Computing. The excitement carried into Tech TLV where Zilberstein joined CTech to discuss Israel’s role in the global race to achieve success.
“The good news is that we are in the game and it's very early to be in the game,” she said, highlighting the Quantum Lab currently being built at Tel Aviv University. “I'm happy to see that we are in the game now. We should continue being ahead of the game and lead that. And that will be a challenge for the tech industry in the next couple of years. There will be a need for investment and some of the things that we'll be creating incentives for companies to invest in that. But I think it's an amazing opportunity for Israel because of our capabilities in AI and in hardware, which is part of the thing that impacts Quantum. We can create an amazing impact on the overall ecosystem that is working on Quantum.”
