Sivan Shamri Dahan leaves Qumra Capital to launch her own investment fund

After a decade at the late-stage VC, she plans to focus on early-stage startups in post-war Israel.

Sivan Shamri Dahan, managing partner at the late-stage investment fund Qumra Capital, is leaving to pursue an independent path after about a decade. Shamri Dahan founded Qumra alongside Boaz Dinte and Erez Shachar. The three had previously worked together at the venture capital fund Evergreen. In recent years, Sharon Barzik Cohen joined the team as a partner and CFO.
Qumra manages over a billion dollars in capital and invests in companies with revenues of about $10 million that have the potential to grow into global leaders in their categories. Among its portfolio companies are JFrog, Fiverr, Minute Media, Augury, Simply, AppsFlyer, Riskified, Connecteam, AtBay, and more. Shamri Dahan will continue to serve as a director on behalf of Qumra in some of its portfolio companies.

In a conversation with Calcalist, Shamri Dahan said, "This may seem like a surprising step, but it has been taking shape over the past year. Everyone has been through turbulent times, and for me, now is the time to follow my dream and start something new on my own—while maintaining strong collaborations with my partners at Qumra. I am in the process of establishing a fund, which is still in the planning and refinement stages, and I will invest in earlier-stage companies than I did at Qumra. I hope to begin investing in 2025. The market is starting to wake up, and there is not enough capital for early-stage investments. I believe that in post-war Israel, there is room for more new funds."
Shamri Dahan sits on the boards of companies such as Datarails, Augury, Simply, and Agora. It is not yet clear whether she will bring on additional partners for her new fund.
Erez Shachar and Boaz Dinte said, "Sivan has been an asset to the fund. We will continue to work closely together. We value her highly, are proud of our shared success, and wish her the best on her new path."
