Rewire by Remitly expands global reach amid demand
New remittance options bring money transfers to Canada, Australia, South America, and more.
Remitly, the company behind the financial app Rewire by Remitly, has announced the expansion of its international remittance services, aiming to address the needs of both migrant workers and Israeli locals seeking to send funds abroad. The expanded reach, which now includes new remittance destinations like Canada, Australia, Malta, Croatia, and countries across South America, marks a significant step for Remitly Israel, nearly two years after its acquisition by Remitly, a Nasdaq-listed company.
The Rewire by Remitly app is intended to serve both local Israelis with overseas family connections and foreign workers looking to send their earnings home to support families. By broadening the range of recipient countries, Rewire by Remitly also aims to support employers of Israel’s migrant workforce, allowing them to make salary transfers directly and in their employees’ native languages.
In addition to remittance services, Rewire by Remitly offers a suite of financial tools, including fund storage, withdrawals, international transfers, and a prepaid card where employers can deposit salaries directly. Recently, Rewire by Remitly received a code from the Bank of Israel, enabling it to connect with Israel’s regulated payment system, which could make remittances more affordable for its customers.
"Every day we see more customers, both migrant workers and locals, using Rewire by Remitly,” said Guy Tesher-Kashtan, CEO of Remitly Israel. "This expansion reflects the growing need for reliable remittance services, especially as more foreign workers arrive from diverse regions, and as locals continue supporting loved ones abroad. We're excited by the momentum and look forward to further developments.”
