"The threats to the high-tech sector? Young and immature companies doing an IPO," said Ben Langworthy, Senior Managing Director at Centerbridge Partners, at Calcalist's Mind The Tech London conference. Langworthy participated in a panel moderated by Calcalist reporter Sophie Shulman which dealt with the perspective of investors on the Israeli and UK ecosystem.
The panel also included: Timor Arbel-Sadras, CEO of LeumiTech ,David Zruia, CEO at Plus500, and Haim Shani, Co-Founder & General Partner of Israel Growth Partners and the Chairman of the UK-Israel Tech Hub.
Davor Hebel, managing partner at Eight Roads and director of the fund's operations in Europe, spoke about what’s next following a successful period of fundraising. "2022 was a bit of an anomaly," Hebel said. “In Israel, the fund invested more than 50% in 2021 compared to the year before and the number of unicorns has skyrocketed. But I do not think we will see another such year in the near future."
