Intel-backed Ignite launches new accelerator programs to boost Israeli deep tech

New programs will support startups from pre-Seed to post-Seed stages, with backing from Intel and industry leaders.

Intel-backed Ignite Deep Tech is launching new acceleration programs to support deep technology startups at various stages of development. The initiative includes a flagship program for post-Seed startups and a pre-Seed program, both backed by Intel and other strategic partners.
The move comes just six months after Intel shut down its Ignite startup acceleration program. In December, Ignite announced its return under an independent model, initially supported by the Israel Innovation Authority, the Ministry of Economy, and Intel as its first client. The new structure aims to build on the previous success of Intel Ignite while expanding opportunities for early-stage deep tech companies.

The restructured accelerator is led by Tzahi Weisfeld as chairman and Alon Leibovich as managing director. Weisfeld, recently appointed as VP of Startup Ecosystem at Intel, brings over 13 years of experience in startup acceleration. He founded Intel Ignite five years ago, growing it into a global deep tech accelerator with programs in the U.S., Europe, and the UK.
Ignite Deep Tech’s flagship program targets startups that have already raised Seed funding. This intensive 12-week initiative will select just ten startups, providing tailored guidance on product-market fit, advanced fundraising preparation, business strategy, marketing, and customer management. Intel plays a central role in the program, with its Global CTO Greg Lavender serving on the advisory steering committee and Global CIO Motti Finkelstein chairing the customer advisory board. Participants will work closely with Intel executives, opening the door to potential commercial collaborations, investments, and even M&A opportunities.
Alongside the flagship program, Ignite Deep Tech is also launching a six-month initiative for pre-Seed entrepreneurs. This program will provide startups with workspace, mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, and professional sessions tailored to their business and technological challenges. The goal is to help early-stage founders navigate the complex landscape of deep tech innovation and secure their first major funding round.
"We are currently in a new technological revolution—it is time for deep technology to shine," said Alon Leibovich. "With the right work and tailored support, Israel can position itself as a leading force in the field. Our vision is to create the next generation of successful startups through a variety of customized programs."
Ignite Deep Tech is also addressing Israel’s talent shortage in deep technology industries with the DeepTech Leaders program, launched in collaboration with Spaire and Earth & Beyond Ventures. This executive training initiative prepares experienced high-tech professionals to transition into leadership roles within deep tech companies, strengthening Israel’s competitiveness on the global stage.
