AcumenAI co-founder shares how mindsets evolve in the second startup
Co-founder and CEO Toby Olshanetsky spoke to CTech about how second-time founders have a different mindset than freshmen.
“Before you actually develop or write the first line of code, understand what the actual market needs,” said Toby Olshanetsky, Co-founder and CEO at AcumenAI. “So you may have a brilliant idea, you may think that you are disrupting the market with some crazy tech, but the market is not there yet.”
Olshanetsky was speaking to CTech at Calcalist and Poalim Tech’s Roadshow+ event about the primary difference in the founder mindset when it relates to a second or third startup. AcumenAI, which was founded in 2024, is a software company specializing in artificial intelligence security. Alongside the other founders Michal Issachary, Ariel Peled, and Yaniv Kanat-Maymon, Olshanetsky comes at this with previous experience.
“Specifically in this market situation with the Israeli crisis, the number one suggestion is to get paying customers as soon as possible,” he continued. “Convince them that you have a product that will not only answer their needs right now, but this is something that will be with them going forward.”
