Blood testing startup Sight Diagnostics lays off 30% of team
Sight Diagnostics, which has raised a total of $124 million to date, is parting ways with around 40 employees
The medical device company Sight Diagnostics, which developed a device that performs rapid blood counts, has laid off 40 of its employees, Calcalist has learned. This is the company's second significant round of layoffs after undergoing a reorganization in 2022, which included layoffs and a significant change in the company's management. The company employs about 130 people, so the number of those fired accounts for around 30% of its workforce.
The company has developed an innovative device to perform a complete blood count test quickly, using a minimal amount of blood. Sight OLO enables quick, accurate, and convenient blood diagnosis, from the vein and even from the finger, and reports the results of a complete blood count within a few minutes.
Sight Diagnostics was founded in 2011 by Yossi Pollak (CEO) and Dr. Daniel Levner. The company has raised about $124 million to date. Its investors include Koch Disruptive Technologies, Longliv Ventures, CK Hutchison Holdings, and OurCrowd.
Sight Diagnostics stated in response: "Like many startups and companies in the Israeli economy, we are required to make adjustments to the company's workforce to ensure its financial strength in the challenging macroeconomic reality - both in the State of Israel and outside of it. Unfortunately, this reality requires us to say goodbye to talented and dedicated employees whom we greatly appreciate. We have a deep commitment to our employees, our customers, and our business partners. We will provide support to every employee we are forced to part with."
