Ministry of Defense adds popular jeep models to war recruitment list
According to the new price list, Israel’s Ministry of Defense is also preparing to recruit jeeps with 5 or 7 seats, which are a significant part of the top ten best selling models in Israel - from the Toyota Yaris Cross to the Chery Tiggo 8
With the war in Gaza far from over, the Ministry of Defense has published a new price list for private vehicles it is recruiting for the war. Although there is no significant change in prices, the price list includes new categories of vehicles that the ministry can recruit - for example, a far broader scope of off-road vehicles.
In November last year, the first price list was published for vehicles collected from both business entities and private owners. The list at that time included trucks, vans, motorcycles, tractors, and more. According to the new price list, the daily payment rate for a motorcycle up to 250 cc is still approximately $86. For a van that is not 4x4, the Ministry of Defense will pay approximately $120 per day this year, and for a private ambulance, the rate was and remains approximately $144 per day.
But the new price list also includes, as mentioned, vehicles of types that so far have not been recruited, including those found under the category defined as "private road/off-road Jeep 5/7 seats."
Jeeps with 5 or 7 seats are extremely popular in Israel, and a significant part of the top ten best selling models in Israel - from the Toyota Yaris Cross to the Chery Tiggo 8. These vehicles meet the definition of the Ministry of Defense as a vehicle that can be recruited. The rate that the Ministry of Defense will pay to the owners of these Jeeps is approximately $37 per day.
In addition, according to the new price list, the Ministry of Defense can also mobilize food trucks, that is, a vehicle that serves as a mobile kitchen and is intended for preparing hot food. The daily rate for a mobilized food truck is approximately $272 per day. If it is a food truck that includes cooking equipment, the Ministry of Defense will pay approximately $274 per day for it.
