CyberArk and Wiz join forces to enhance cloud security in multi-cloud environments
The alliance provides improved visibility and control over human and machine identities, a growing concern in cloud-native organizations.
CyberArk, a leader in identity security, has announced a strategic partnership with Wiz, the cloud security decacorn, to improve multi-cloud security for enterprises. This collaboration aims to address the growing complexity of managing privileged access across expansive cloud environments, which are a common challenge for businesses scaling their cloud infrastructure.
The integration of CyberArk's Identity Security Platform with Wiz’s Cloud Security Platform will allow companies to gain better visibility into privileged access across human and machine identities. The goal is to help businesses manage security without hindering the speed and scale of their cloud development efforts.
The move comes as many organizations face increased risks associated with the growing number of identities in multi-cloud environments. A key concern is the lack of visibility into how developers often grant themselves elevated access, which can lead to greater exposure and compliance challenges. According to Clarence Hinton, Chief Strategy Officer at CyberArk, this partnership seeks to address these vulnerabilities by improving the discovery and security of these identities, ensuring that every cloud identity is controlled through a “Zero Standing Privileges” approach.
By combining Wiz’s expertise in detecting critical risks and misconfigured access with CyberArk’s capabilities to enforce stringent privilege controls, the two companies aim to provide a more comprehensive security solution. This integration allows organizations to quickly meet audit and compliance requirements while reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
The partnership is expected to benefit cloud-native organizations that are increasingly operating in multi-cloud environments. Wiz’s ability to analyze cloud entitlements will complement CyberArk’s dynamic control over identities, helping businesses scale their cloud operations securely.
This alliance also sees both companies joining each other’s respective networks: CyberArk is becoming part of the Wiz Integration Network (WIN), while Wiz will join CyberArk's C3 Alliance. These efforts reflect a broader trend in the cybersecurity industry where collaboration between different platforms and technologies is essential for tackling increasingly complex security challenges in the cloud.
Earlier this year, CyberArk acquired cybersecurity firm Venafi from equity firm Thoma Bravo in a deal valued at around $1.54 billion. The acquisition combined Venafi’s machine identity management capabilities with CyberArk’s identity security capabilities with the aim of establishing a unified platform for end-to-end machine identity security at enterprise scale.
Calcalist reported last week that Wiz is exploring the acquisition of Israeli cybersecurity company Dazz, led by co-founder and CEO Merav Bahat. Dazz completed a $50 million fundraising round in July at an estimated valuation of $400 million, suggesting that a purchase price could be at least $500 million.
