“Robots will replace people, eventually - especially in agriculture”
“It’s just the very early beginning of a process, but it will happen,” Eyal Desheh, Chairman of the Board of Tevel Aerobotics Technologies, a fruit-picking drone company, told CTech at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech 2022 Conference in New York. “There is no other solution, unfortunately. People just don’t want to do work in agriculture anymore”
“We are solving one of the world’s biggest problems, food security, and enabling a stable supply of fruit to the world,” Eyal Desheh, Chairman of the Board of Tevel Aerobotics Technologies, a fruit-picking drone company, told CTech at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech 2022 Conference in New York. “Nobody wants to work in agriculture anymore,” Desheh continued. “Fruits stay on trees with no one to pick them.”
“What makes us unique is our ability to combine a set of state of the art technology into one integrated solution that actually makes the drones work like people, identify the fruit, detect if it is ready (ripe) to be picked, do selective harvesting, and do it all in the most economical way for the benefit of the farmer.”
Regarding the question of where the industry is heading, Desheh said, “The solution is automation, robotics, machinery, all software driven. Robots will replace people, eventually - especially in agriculture. It’s just the very early beginning of a process, but it will happen. There is no other solution, unfortunately. People just don’t want to do work in agriculture anymore.”
