Former CrowdStrike manager Yossi Attia appointed to manage Island's operations in Israel
Attia, who previously served as a regional sales manager for CrowdStrike, has a background in engineering and over two decades of experience managing teams of engineering and sales in the field of cyber defense
Enterprise browser developer Island has announced the appointment of Yossi Attia as Regional Director of Israel and Emerging Markets.
Attia, who previously served as a regional sales manager for CrowdStrike, has a background in engineering and over two decades of experience managing teams of engineering and sales in the field of cyber defense. In the past, he promoted the establishment of the regional operations of Gigamon and Net Optics, which was acquired by IXIA, and previously served as Chief Cyber Architect at HP.
Attia’s recruitment comes as Island is launching its business activity in Israel.
"The expansion of Island's business activity in Israel is extremely significant and critical for the regional industry,” said Dan Amiga, co-founder and CTO of Island. “Companies in every sector and industry are looking for more innovative approaches to security with a minimal impact on the enterprise, especially as the work model has changed. Attia brings years of experience in establishing and leading business activities with a deep understanding of technology and a strong commitment to Island's strategy."
"Through the process I had with Dan and the team, I was exposed to a broad platform that addresses many challenges in an efficient and innovative way,” said Attia. “Island is one of those rare companies that truly revolutionizes the future of enterprise work. I'm excited to join the Island team and help its growth."
Island has raised about $270 million to date, most recently being valued at $1.3 billion. Island was co-founded by Mike Faye, who is the CEO, and Dan Amiga, who is the CTO. In the past, Faye served as chief technology officer (CTO) at McAfee, then as president of Bluecoat, and led the merger with Symantec. At Symantec he held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer (COO); Amiga was the founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the successful cyber company Fireglass, which was acquired by Symantec. The current headquarters of Island are in Dallas, Texas, under Fay's management, and the research and development team is in Tel Aviv, managed by Amiga.
