Cisco Chief Strategy Officer: “We have a responsibility to drive AI in a more ethical and responsible way”
“AI is so pervasive in our daily lives. Sometimes we don't even know how AI is enabling us,” added Liz Centoni, EVP, Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager, Applications, at Cisco
“Cisco is a purpose driven organization. Our purpose is really around building an inclusive future for all,” said Liz Centoni, EVP, Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager, Applications, at Cisco. Centoni was speaking at Calcalist and Cisco’s Innovation Cocktail held earlier this week.
“Every single company out there is talking about their sustainability goals. We will see sustainably drive transformation of data centers and smart buildings. The second thing around building a better, more inclusive future for all is AI, which is so pervasive in our daily lives. Sometimes we don't even know how AI is enabling us. We at Cisco use AI in our security portfolio, in our collaboration portfolio, in our applications as well as AI delivered networks. But we as an industry have a responsibility to drive this ethically and responsibly, taking into consideration things like security, trust, and privacy.”
Centoni believes this responsibility also relates to the new buzz around ChatGPT, OpenAI and Generative AI. “I believe as an industry between VCs, startups, corporations, and industry analysts, we have a responsibility to drive this in a much more ethical and responsible way.”
