13 women and children were released from Hamas captivity in Gaza and returned to Israel
Over 200 Israelis are still in the captivity of the terrorist organization Hamas after being abducted from their homes in kibbutzim and towns in Israel on October 7
Thirteen Israeli mothers, along with their children and elderly women, were released on Friday, 49 days after terrorists from the murderous Hamas organization kidnapped them to the Gaza Strip. Over 200 Israelis are still in the captivity of Hamas after being abducted from their homes in kibbutzim and towns in Israel on October 7 during the infamous attack by the abominable terrorists who breached the border fence from Gaza to Israel.
Under the terms of the four-day Israel-Hamas truce, 50 women and children hostages are set to be released over four days. In exchange, 150 Palestinian women and children, who are among thousands of detainees in Israeli jails, will be released. Israel has stated that the truce could be extended if more hostages are released at a rate of 10 per day.
Alongside the 13 Israeli women and children, 11 Thai and Filipino citizens who worked in Israel were also released on Friday. Thai and Filipino farmworkers employed in southern Israel were among approximately 240 hostages taken back to Gaza by gunmen when Hamas terrorists launched a killing spree on October 7.
Another group of about 10 mothers, their children and elderly Israelis are scheduled to be released on Saturday. "We have just completed the return of the first batch of our hostages. Children, their mothers and other women. Each and every one of them is a world in itself," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. "But I stress to you, the families, and to you, citizens of Israel: We are committed to returning all our hostages."
IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari commented this evening on the release of the 13 abductees from Hamas captivity and updated: "All of them underwent a first medical evaluation, and there is no danger to their lives. They are currently on the move, and in a short time, they will contact their families, complete medical tests and an intake process, and from there, they will be transferred by Air Force helicopters to the hospitals to meet their families."
Hagari emphasized that "each and every one who returned home tonight is a complete world. Their return is our moral and value duty. All the commanders of the IDF and its fighters worked for many weeks together with the security organizations to bring them home." Hagari referred to the psychological warfare that the terrorist organizations operate, saying: "No forgetting for a moment that Hamas is a cruel and merciless enemy. More than ever, we must avoid spreading unverified information. This happened to one of the kidnapped women, who returned home today, after the terrorist organizations claimed to have killed her a few days ago. That's why reports from officials should be relied upon only."
The war conflict in the region broke out on October 7 when hundreds of murderous terrorists from the terrorist organization Hamas broke through the border from the Gaza Strip and carried out a heinous massacre of innocent Israeli civilians inside Israeli territory. In the brutal massacres, at least 1,400 Israelis were murdered - babies, children, women and the elderly - adopting tactics reminiscent of ISIS.
Thousands more were injured and over 200 women, children, babies, old men and soldiers were abducted by Hamas to Gaza, with the intent of using them as bargaining chips against Israel. In response, the IDF has been attacking the terrorist infrastructure of the jihadist Hamas organization in Gaza since October, in an attempt to collapse its hold on the Palestinian population in Gaza.
