“When I got to university I looked around and I was the only woman,” said AT Program CEO and cyber specialist Neta Blum to CTech at Calcalist and Bank Leumi’s Mind the Tech conference in London. “Since then and still today, I’ve worked in top leadership roles in tech, and throughout my journey, no matter where I was, and most of the time I was the only female in the room.”
This inspired Blum to found the AT program, a non-profit organization which encourages and enables girls in high school to pursue STEM-related studies and careers, via mentorship, visits to tech companies and education about technology. “The goal of AT is to make STEM accessible to everyone. We show them the women who made it; I believe that once you see it, you can become it,” says Blum, who is also pursuing a PhD in aerospace engineering at the Technion.
As a cyber specialist, Blum says that the rise of AI has presented numerous challenges to the industry. “It brings both opportunities and challenges including privacy and IP protection, AI-powered cyber attacks, regulation and ethical issues, surface attack expansion, and cyber and AI skills gap.”
