Gerstel, the former CEO of Perion, will replace Alon Werber, who announced his retirement after a decade as CEO.
Doron Gerstel, former CEO of Perion, has been appointed CEO of Pixellot, which provides AI-powered hardware and software solutions for live sports broadcasting. Gerstel will succeed Alon Werber, who announced his retirement after a decade as CEO. Gerstel brings 25 years of experience as a CEO in technology companies, where he has led strategic initiatives and driven growth in various firms, including Perion, Panaya, and Nolio.
Founded in 2013 by Dr. Miky Tamir and Gal Oz, Pixellot has raised $220 million to date and employs around 200 people, primarily in Israel and the United States. The company has achieved several significant milestones recently, solidifying its position as a leader in automated sports broadcasting. These accomplishments include producing over 5 million live sports events, with more than 40,000 systems deployed in 80 countries, broadcasting approximately 150,000 games each month across 19 sports. Additionally, Pixellot recently launched a new automated snapshot service and the Pixellot Air NXT mobile camera.
Pixellot's client base includes major sports organizations in North America and Europe, such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, MLB, and numerous football associations in Argentina, France, Portugal, and Belgium. In Israel, Pixellot partners with all major sports organizations, broadcasting hundreds of games each month across 13 leagues in football, basketball, handball, and volleyball for men's, women's, and youth divisions.
