ChatGPT down: Chatbot service suffers serious global disruption

Users of the chatbot from across the world are reporting issues preventing them from accessing the app.

OpenAI's artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT is suffering from a major disruption on Thursday, with users of the chatbot from across the world reporting issues preventing them from accessing the service.

According to downdetector.com, which monitors website outages, thousands of users have reported it so far. OpenAI confirmed that the service is experiencing partial disruptions and said it is still investigating the issue. It is not yet clear what caused the problem and how long it will last.
OpenAI released a statement at 7:26 a.m. ET saying "The issue has been identified, and a fix is being implemented." Four minutes later, they said "A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results." At 7:43 a.m. ET OpenAI said the issue was resolved. However, people still reported issues.
