Bessemer Venture Partners appoints Ariel Sterman as Partner

Sterman has become the fund’s third Partner in Israel focusing on investments in Israel and Europe. Over the years, Bessemer has invested approximately a billion dollars in more than 60 Israeli companies and currently has more than 40 active investments in Israel

Bessemer Venture Partners has announced the appointment of Ariel Sterman as a Partner, operating from its Israeli office, making him the fund’s third Partner in Israel focusing on investments in Israel and Europe.
Sterman leads the investment roadmap at Bessemer in the gaming sector. In addition, his investments extend to fintech, AI/ML infrastructure, B2B SaaS, and SMB-focused companies. “SMBs around the globe face similar challenges – from time constraints to cash flow and fierce competition,” he said. “This is what has pulled my attention to Europe as well in recent years, where there is critical demand for vertical SaaS solutions tailored for small businesses in nearly every sector and market.”

As an investment professional at Bessemer since 2018, Sterman serves as a board member at Qwak, Apron, Demostack, and a board observer at Melio, Hibob, Choco, Upvest, and Sweep.
"Ariel has a rare ability to delve into different segments of the market and simultaneously build strong relationships with entrepreneurs. We are very excited to appoint him as a Partner and expect the industry to hear a lot more about him in the coming years,” said Adam Fisher, Partner at Bessemer.
Before joining Bessemer, Sterman worked in growth equity at Stripes, where he assisted the New York-based firm expansion into the Israeli market and drove its first investment in Israel, a $50 million investment in monday.com’s Series C round.
“The constant learning and exploration of the unknown is what initially drew me to a career in investing,” says Sterman. “Nothing is certain, especially at the earliest stage. Authentic dialogue with founders helps me build conviction in new sectors and ideas that may have previously been foreign to me. But it's that very uncertainty that also has me constantly revisiting classic sectors—enterprise SaaS, cloud infrastructure, fintech—with an evolving lens.”
Bessemer Venture Partners has been investing in Israel for three decades, and operating from its Tel Aviv since 2007. Over the years, Bessemer has invested approximately a billion dollars in more than 60 Israeli companies, including early investments in successful companies such as Wix, Fiverr, Habana, HiBob, Axonius, Melio, and more. Currently, Bessemer has more than 40 active investments in Israel.
