“The Israel France Chamber of Commerce exists to improve, to boost the economic relationship between Israel and France, and I think it's especially important in those days. When, in international relations you have ups and downs, at least when you have strong economic ties and business ties between people, then you can secure the future of the relationship,” says Julien Roitman, President of the Israel France Chamber of Commerce and Industry to CTech during Israel's Business Delegation to Paris led by Calcalist and Bank Hapoalim.
Founded in 1957, the Israel France Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CCIIF) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting bilateral trade, investment and trade relations between Israel and France. Roitman is responsible for leading the chamber’s activities on the Israeli side and is based in Tel Aviv.
“I think that one should remember that the market in Europe is greater than the market, not only of the U.S., but of the Americas, one of the biggest markets in the world. And, France is probably the best, if not the only gate to enter the European market,” says Roitman. “The U.K. is out of the game, [having] left the European Union, then you have Germany, which is really a very big piece, but maybe too big for small companies. And, flexibility is not the utmost characteristic of Germany, while France, both by culture and by geography, is open to the south, to the north, to the east, and it's a country that is used to new ideas, new concepts, new ways of thinking."
